Did you know a marrow transplant can be a life-saving treatment for more than 70 diseases including leukemia, lymphoma and sickle cell. Seventy percent of patients do not have a matching donor in their family. They depend on Be The Match to find an unrelated marrow donor and receive the transplant they need.
Additionally, for people of color with a blood cancer or a blood-related disease, it is least likely to find at least one potential match due to the lack of black and brown donors in the registry. Black donors between the ages of 18 - 44 are important to the registry because cells from younger donors are some of the most regenerative.
